A far cry from the sports teams at Humber, the Rocketry Development Team plans to blaze 10,000 ft into the sky, and land safely back on the firm ground of Northern Ontario.

Set for August 2022, HRDT plans to participate in the Launch Canada competition, which university teams nationwide fly their student designed and developed rockets. HRDT will be among the only teams from a Canadian college to participate in an event, and we are excited to prove our worth this summer.

This year, HRDT is developing a rocket to compete in the commercial off the shelf motor category, which takes the rocket up to 10,000 ft and back down by parachute for a safe recovery. We are also developing an automated tracking system to solve the issue of having to manually point cameras and antennae to maintain connection to the rocket.
