Thank you to Diamond Schmitt for sponsoring the 2021 Ideas Competition for the Humber Cultural Hub, in which fourth year students were asked to design an Indigenous classroom. The competition was launched with the Diamond Schmitt team along with Jason Seright and Nahannee Schuitemaker of Humber Indigenous Education and Engagement. This provided our students with incredible insight and opportunities for further research.
First Place: Natasha and Vanessa Di Paola
Second Place: Danielle Fernandes
Third Place: Daorsa Kerqeli and Sophia Cox
Many thanks to the Naval Reserve for engaging our fourth-year students in the design of the HMCS STAR Centennial Garden in Hamilton. This project played an important role in our service learning for Winter 2022 and provided students the opportunity to meet with members of the Naval Reserve during information and feedback sessions. We look forward to visiting the Centennial Garden in the near future!
Special thanks to Dayna Bradley, Nawleen Kaur and David Holt for providing a lighting seminar and critique to our thesis students. It is so important for our students to hear from industry experts who are willing to share their time and knowledge.
Thanks to Michael Wesolowskyfor making us excited about acoustics. This has become an annual tradition and we are grateful for Michael's enthusiasm in sharing his vast knowledge on the subject. We look forward to an in-person presentation next year.
We would like to thank Dragos for his engaging lecture on Sustainability and the built environment. This has become a Thesis tradition which we look forward to each year.
The thesis projects would not be a success without the dedication and participation of our many thesis mentors and industry guests. THANK YOU for the guidance and support you offer to our students and our program. You are an essential part of our thesis process and we are most grateful.
