The Temporary Vaccination Centre for the Humber Gymnasium is centrally located to the community at Humber College’s North Campus, in a very accessible location that has abundant parking and is easily accessible by transit. The existing building features a large open area with good ventilation, multiple access points to ensure the flow of people, and large square footage for social distancing. Signage is incorporated through decals on the floor and wall to remind people to socially distance, wear a mask and sanitize their hands. Signage and separate entrances and exits are used to guide one-way traffic flow. Offering both 1st dose and 2nd doses, colour coding is used for the 1st dose and 2nd dose areas to allow for easy wayfinding and distinction between areas. Hand sanitizer stations are placed frequently throughout the space, hand wash stations are incorporated as well. Plexi-glass dividers are placed at every check-in and registration table, while all furniture is spaced 6 feet apart from one another. Materials that are anti-bacterial and easy to wipe down were selected, and temporary walls are used to guide traffic flow and ensure privacy. Bright, natural, and relaxing colours were selected to give the space a relaxing feel.
