CultureLink

Lawrence Lardizabal, Khang Tran

CultureLink is a place for newcomers located in Toronto, Canada. CultureLink offers support with difficult cases and helps in adjusting to life in Canada. CultureLink's office is quite old and impractical, especially the reception and waiting area.

We decided to redesign those two areas to create accessible, inclusive, and more impactful experiences for the end users. The initial idea was to make the space more vibrant, and more energetic by applying biophilic design. However, there are guidelines that were coming from the building management that wouldn't allow the project to go over the limit.

The aesthetic direction for CultureLink project is inspired by the nature of Canada as we are offering what we are having to our guest from afar.

Our scope is to provide accessibility into the space and create a more active waiting area.

A better-designed reception desk would make the newcomers feel more invited into the space.

A bright space with vibrant yet soothing colors will make newcomers more energetic, soothing, and comforted.
