Hello, I am an Industrial Design graduate who was born in Seoul, Korea, and currently living in Toronto. I have always been interested in many areas and enjoy learning new things such as business, science, cooking, music, and of course, art and designing. My unique cultural background allows me to add creative value to my designs and provide a perspective that may not come so naturally to others. My four years at Humber have been a life-changing experience that has provided me an opportunity to become a passionate designer and has allowed me to share my unique creativity with others.
The four essential pillars encompass human-centric design approach and the understanding of full-bodied, three dimensional physical interaction of user, product and environment. The projects generate innovative solutions using research-driven, evidence-based designs which focus on the user experience.
Korean Transportation Safety Authority enacted a regulation that all-electric scooter riders must wear protective gear. However, only 2.9% of public electric scooter users reported wearing helmets because they felt uncomfortable sharing helmets for hygienic reasons. Additionally, many public electric scooters block the path of pedestrians whose space is already limited. KICKO provides a convenient and hygienic public electric scooter solution in the urban environment. A liner can be purchased at any of KICKO’s kiosks that can be attached to the inside of the helmet to separate the user's head and the public helmet’s inner surface. After a user’s journey, they can park at any kiosk near them, and users can choose to keep their liner for future usage or simply return to the recycling bin located at the kiosk.
