Since I was a kid, I have loved design, and in general this idea of interacting with machines, products, and environments. Specializing in Automotive Design significantly increased my attention to detail, and I aim to apply this skill in other areas of my design work. I believe human-centred design means that that products should not only be easy to use, but also be beautiful in form, in ways that resemble the natural world.
The four essential pillars encompass human-centric design approach and the understanding of full-bodied, three dimensional physical interaction of user, product and environment. The projects generate innovative solutions using research-driven, evidence-based designs which focus on the user experience.
In the corporate world, Golf is a go-to activity for networking and outings. Young adults often attempt to learn for this reason.
miAXIS provides them with comprehensive training, instilling confidence in their game when meeting for a game with important business partners.
miAXIS will automatically adjust to the user's posture when they enter their information into the Smart-Grip.
The angle and height of the shoulder fixture are calculated based on the user's height as well as their selected club head attachment.
Minimum and maximum dimensions of the club rack, shoulder fixture, and platform are based upon optimized access for 1st percentile females and 99th percentile males (respectively).
This ensures seamless ergonomic characteristics for all users.
The miAXIS’s comprehensive approach reduces the solution to a single product.
Most training solutions focus on only one aspect of the training process, which requires multiple products to provide comprehensive training. Not only is this expensive, but also results in a greater environmental impact from the cumulative life cycles of these products, in manufacturing, shipping, maintenance, and disposal. By providing a single solution for a range of training needs, miAXIS is able to significantly reduce the environmental impact of golf-training.
Current Golf training solutions rely on either verbal or visual guidance to describe a proper swing. New golfers will discover that any self-consciousness will have a severe impact on their focus. The golf swing is also an unnatural motion to most novices, so it is difficult to feel when adequate adjustments have been made, even with these types of feedback. By fixing a golfer’s swing axis in place, and with real-time haptic feedback through a smart-grip, miAXIS provides the sensation of a proper swing, enabling the novice to learn through feel, without the need for confusing instructions. miAXIS gives new golfers the confidence they need whether they are in a casual game with friends, or meeting for a game with an important business partner.
