My name is RJ Piccioni, I am an Industrial Design graduate from Humber College from Toronto, Canada. I've always had a love for creative thinking and art, while simultaneously thinking of ways to improve quality of life. This pushed me to challenge myself in Industrial Design to see how I could apply myself to the profession. This exposed me to the problem solving aspects of product and transportation design as I embarked on the journey to solve them. I learned a lot about graphic and packaging design along the way, and couldn't be happier learning various transferable skills. The moment in design I appreciate most is when both designer and consumer think to themselves with product in hand "Wow I love this design".
The four essential pillars encompass human-centric design approach and the understanding of full-bodied, three dimensional physical interaction of user, product and environment. The projects generate innovative solutions using research-driven, evidence-based designs which focus on the user experience.
The enhancement of human lifestyle that Seraphym provides is a quality of life change to paramedics.
Seraphym is equipped with adequate storage space for the necessary pharmaceuticals and equipment. No separation between the drives and the patients, which allow the rotating passenger seat to have absolute access to onboard patients. Seraphym is also equipped with all terrain capability, for ease of travel while simultaneously having a retractable roof for air lift support.
While in the front of the interior a monitor displays the details of the patients stability and status.
This way the paramedics can monitor the patients health when being transported. This is important when approaching hospital destinations and air lift points in order to transfer the patient from the vehicle, to either an air lift, or the hospital doctors themselves. The rotating passenger seat allows ease of access to the rear in case the patient needs attending to.
Ergonomically everything is within arms reach for the passenger when attending to the patient in the rear of the vehicle, all storage cabinets are as high as six feet.
Meeting the 95th percentile accommodations.
The sustainable aspects of Seraphym provide long term solutions to Co2 emissions via being an electric vehicle.
Electric vehicles release less Co2 emissions overtime than combustion engines. Batteries that are provided can be a renewable energy source.
How may we help first responders work more efficiently in harsh winter conditions? SERAPHYM is a sustainable solution to the long travel times and work efficiency challenges the harsh winters bring the Northern climate. Typically travel times in Northern Canada can be as long as one to one hour and thirty minutes. This is a severe deterrent to our paramedics as they do their best to save the lives of those in need.
