Overview
The capstone project focuses on leveraging machine learning techniques to address the challenge of detecting sidewalk deficiencies, including cracks, gaps, and potholes. Sidewalk infrastructure plays a crucial role in urban mobility and safety, making timely detection and repair of deficiencies essential for public welfare.
Using object detection algorithms, we also want to identify objects on sidewalks, including hazards or barriers. This makes it possible for us to improve accessibility and pedestrian safety. Giving city planners and maintenance workers real-time feedback is our ultimate objective. We make a positive impact on the creation of safer and more accessible urban areas by evaluating sidewalk conditions and quickly addressing potential difficulties.
