Overview
The team examined the project management practices by conducting an audit process on one of Siemens’s internal projects called “Kitting Project”, which was developed and managed by our sponsor. In manufacturing industries, inventory management is a common problem where many issues could arise as processes redundancy, poor facility layout, high labor costs, and inaccurate inventory information. Our sponsor came up with the Kitting project, first to reduce the usability of resources by providing a better user experience as well as an unbiased examination of products, hence enhancing the shipping and receiving process, resulting in time and cost saving for both the organization and customers. Referring to the PMBOK, and using the knowledge gained throughout the project management program, the team was successfully able to identify the overall compliance of the project.
