Overview

With the rising population of individuals that can drive, the time it takes to arrive at emergency locations increased in time over the years. Thus, leading to preventable deaths in emergencies from not receiving emergency first aid or medical facilities being unprepared for patients arriving into the emergency rooms.

EmergensUI, an AutomotiveUI and Medical Facility Assist system was designed to give support to those assisting in emergency scenarios, both inside and outside medical facilities. The complete system of EmergensUI, when the hardware and software are used in tandem strives to improve the communication of data between paramedics and those in medical facilities, decrease the time needed to tend to patients, and improve the overall mortality rate during emergencies. It is a system designed by the current team, Kevin Lieng, Quyen Lu, and Seung Min Song alongside their collaborators, Professor Dennis Kappen and George Paravantes. The hardware and software portions of the system work hand in hand with one another communicating through an online source which holds the data retrieved by the hardware and transfers that data to the software. The data retrieved by these sensors when read by employees of the medical service industry would provide them with crucial information to improve their performance through readiness and decrease the time needed to perform emergency procedures.
