Universal Kitchen

This G shaped universal kitchen is designed for a couple in their mid 70’s. By using universal design features and considering aging-in-place modifications, this kitchen renovation project creates a safe and comfortable space, regardless of age or physical abilities which fulfills the primary requirement of the client. Our client specifically wanted the renovated kitchen to be more accessible, easy to clean and use. The top three goals of the project are to redesign the cabinet, provide more clearance, and to have an open concept kitchen. The wall at the right side of the kitchen could not be removed due to the constraints of the house plan. Also, the kitchen could not be extended to the left because of a door to the backyard.

Coastal Kitchen

The kitchen design is inspired by coastal. In order to create a relaxed, easy vibe, coastal design usually incorporates many natural elements. In this kitchen design the natural elements comes in through the gentle and soothing coastal blue paint colour on the upper and lower cabinet, the sand white quartz waterfall countertop, white herringbone backsplash tile, brass hardware and linen roman blind. The use of natural light, soft tones, and a clean aesthetic, helps to evoke the breeziness of the beach.

Habitual House

The proposed house is a side split house with an addition and has five levels. The family consist of five people. The project location is in Victoria, capital of British Columbia, that sits on the craggy southern end of Vancouver Island. The concept for the design is convenience and style along with warmth for a five-member family. This is achieved by choosing a natural color palette which in turn creates unity and harmony in the space. The house has glass windows on one side of the living room because of which the space receives the benefit of enjoying each season. The house has a marble textured fireplace. The beam ceilings creates organic feel and provides a spatial separation between living room and kitchen area. We have chosen lighting, finishes , furniture and accessories to reflect the organic wavy feeling. The herringbone hardwood floor gives the feeling of movement and kinetic energy. Wooden grain textures on the floor and bean give the feel of wave. Most of the furniture is from elte which resonates luxury. The furniture chosen are timeless and unique.

Home Renovation

In today’s world where you spend more time at home now than ever before, everyone looks forward to some nice, relaxing down time at home where they can kick up their feet, turn on the TV, have a drink and forget the world for a while. Once a neglected detached garage, this beautifully appointed entertainment space now serves as a restive retreat. Enjoy the freedom, flexibility and openness of this eclectic space brought together through the use of flame shaped floor lamp, polychromatic and cocktail art work, glass blown sculpture, terracotta chandelier and rainbow pattern rug. The terracotta chandelier brings a bohemian vibe. The green velvet sofa brings boldness to the space. This space is meant to be a fun and relaxing where adults can lay back over a beverage or two and talk about the day or watch TV. The beautiful, custom-designed wet bar will enhance our entertaining experience. Because this was originally a garage, the space has limited light source (small window) which is now overcomed by providing sky light. The bar shelf (open shelf) is placed against the garage door’s frosted glass panel thereby making this glass work as a backsplash so the objects placed on it gets illuminated.

Humber BCTI Hotel Room Design Competition 2021 - Winning Project.

Nature is always present in our daily lives. This unique and picturesque space aims to blend contemporary natural designs to create both a relaxing yet exciting place to stay. Bringing nature inside is a key part to this design process. Whites, browns and greens color palette are used to attain the natural and organic look perfectly. Brown and green colour are used as the main focus to bring natural styles and thereby adding life into the hotel suit while white is used to contrast the rich browns and greens. To break the geometric form an organic form is added in the form of a coffee table which is one of the main emphasis of the room. Water is a key element to nature. The river stone shaped coffee table gives a sense of upscaled pebbles and its reflection creates a movement. Plants are the central focus of Organic style. Decorating the hotel suit with plants adds color and life into a design. To create an eco-friendly environment our hotel suite makes use of smart rooms that enable guests to preselect the room temperature, lighting mood, TV, music, blinds and more—all triggered by a mobile key that transmits those settings from the digital lock on the door. Technology that enables more engaging, customized and immersive guest experience are used.
