This family bathroom went from drab to fab! Whereas the "before" bathroom was dark, cluttered, and dated, the space now exudes a sense of balance, harmony, and elegance. Not only is there an expanded amount of storage, but there is also a double vanity, which is ideal for a shared bathroom in real estate. The toilet is now shielded from the view of the entrance, and the new stand-up is more tuned to daily use. Drawn and designed by Eveline, this project was completed in Fall 2020.
For this project, I designed an inclusive kitchen for a couple of professors in their mid-70's, one being diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, a condition causing the client to slowly go blind. I designed a kitchen that was perfect for aging in place; by implementing a timeless colour palette and style, wheelchair-accessible appliances for any possible injuries/conditions, and creative lighting solutions (i.e. toekick LED strips, dimmable ambient lighting, and adjustable under-cabinet lighting), Eveline was able to provide the client with an accesssible, innovative, and aesthetic new kitchen. Drawn and designed by Eveline, this project was completed in Fall 2020.
Completed with a close colleague, this project was to work with a 4-person family living in a loft apartment located in th Eastside District of Toronto. The loft was designed with an organic approach to material and custom millwork detail. The family was the focus of this renovation (example: leaving the walls painted white for a growing family to expand on), and the team was able to provide the parents with a secluded retreat, suitable workspaces, and catered spaces for the children to create and play. Drawn, modeled in SketchUp, and designed by both Eveline and her colleague, this project was completed in Fall 2020.
In this garage transformation, the goal was to create a space in which the client can ESCAPE to. The final product is a tranquil oasis that will rejuvenate anyone who decides to spend time there. Using a soft colour palette, relaxed linework, and natural textures and materials (such as macramé, wicker, wood, and canvas), the concept was beautifully transitioned from an abstract idea into a planned space. Plants and greenery were the main drive for this conceptual design; because perfection doesn’t exist in nature, imperfect/curved lines were reflected as much as possible in the space. Soft materials were prominent to represent the smoothness of leaves. The goal was to achieve an escape from the typical concrete jungle of the suburbs/cities, and find tranquility in the intimate feel of nature that this space offers. Designed and modeled in SketchUp by Eveline, this project was completed in Spring 2021.
