This garage transformed into an artistic vibrant space that has become an Arts and Crafts Studio. The studio is divided into 2 spaces, an office to work and a living area. The repetition of curved lines is shown throughout the space with the balance in colors. When entering the space, the arch that leads you to the office area where there is a custom desk is the main emphasis of the studio.
The clients are Marie, a psychiatrist, and her cat, Coco who want a home for themselves in Midtown, Toronto. Based on the client's inspiration, the concept of this loft will be concentrated on comfort, layering, creativity, and fashion. Using the different lines and the different materials, the space would turn out to be a place that would always be comfortable and relaxing to stay in. Materials like wood on railing and metal treads, concrete, and long hanging lights are essential to complete the look of this loft. Vertical lines extrude from the floor to the ceiling to emphasize the structure of this concept.
For This home, we have decided to go with a Japandi design. We have decided to create a minimalist space that is safe for a newborn and a growing family in the future. We have created a simple oasis for your home with very neutral shades and organic shapes. We have added small details of greens to bring the outdoors in, and create emphasis within the space. Japandi styling both has a beautiful aesthetic but also has functional purposes. Not overcrowding a space, and keeping the space large and open. We have kept true to the Japandi style, with simple and functional design elements with a large focus on lines, textures, patterns, and balance in the design.
