As a curious and empathetic individual, I find great joy in exploring new ideas and perspectives, always striving to stretch the "muscles" of my brain in multiple directions through the process of learning; often drawing ideas from the cultural, ecological, and communal aspects of life. I deeply believe in the interconnectedness of all things and make it a priority to be considerate, caring, and accepting. I relish my time alone for introspection and reflection, finding that mental activity is a constant and fulfilling companion to me.

Comfortable Escape
I designed a charming cottage during my early days of learning SketchUp. The concept behind it was to craft a sanctuary that would immediately envelop you in a sense of comfort, providing an escape from the bustling city life of Toronto. A particular dilemma I encountered was how to utilize the "attic" space effectively. Ultimately, I delighted in transforming it into a distinctive lounge/entertainment area that exuded a nostalgic ambiance. Additionally, I faced the challenge of working with a compact kitchen, but I skillfully maximized the available space by incorporating a U-shaped layout, ensuring an optimal working triangle.

Taking inspiration from the intricate beauty of nature, we have made it our priority to infuse organic materials and textures into every space with a focus on depth and value. The incorporation of arches in our design was a result of a thorough exploration of our inspiration, which draws heavily from the vibrant city of Toronto. By juxtaposing classical architectural elements with the contemporary world, we sought to accentuate the striking contrast between the two. The use of arches serves as a prominent feature that highlights this harmonious interplay between tradition and modernity.
Lily's loft creates a captivating juxtaposition by blending curved and cozy elements with the rugged textures and strong lines of industrial materials, intensifying the impact it has on her invited guests.
For Lily, an avid shoe collector, I designed a splendid walk-in closet. Inspired by her desire to utilize and showcase all her shoes, we came up with a unique concept: displaying them as if they were beautifully arranged on shelves in a boutique. To enhance the presentation, we incorporated subtle under-shelf lighting that adds a touch of elegance. Additionally, we included a cozy, cushioned bench on the side, providing Lily with a comfortable spot to sit while she puts on her favorite pairs of shoes.

A meticulously sophisticated space for a woman with such a complex personality. Inspired by Toronto’s ever changing architecture, we wanted to show you how we can capture the city you love, your unique tastes in fashion, arts, and culture, into your forever home. Much like Toronto, contrasting details are shown within your home without looking too busy. Through all this clash, the intent to emphasize traditional architecture is shown through the grand arch in the living room, which is continued on to the primary bedroom. As you walk through the different areas, you notice a rhythm through the materials used. There is a defining difference between the lower and the upper space. The edginess of the lower floor will surely make a lasting impression with whoever sees it; the upper floor is designed to evoke comfort better rest.
Forever Kitchen
A retired couple, seeking a peaceful and comfortable lifestyle, focus on their shared hobby of cooking while renting out a spare bedroom to a college student. Their home is nestled in an area surrounded by beaches and evergreen trees, reminiscent of their hometowns. To accommodate one of them with visual impairments, the kitchen was designed with contrasting textures and colors, utilizing high-contrast materials for ease of navigation. The U-shaped kitchen features curved lines and bent wood finishes, offering a sleek and seamless aesthetic. Deep-toned blue cabinetry with gold finishes adds a grounding effect and a touch of elegance. Customized braille labels embedded onto metal surfaces provide convenience and accessibility. A cushioned banquette upholstered in plush green velvet complements the open shelves, creating a cohesive atmosphere. To evoke nostalgia, the kitchen incorporates elements inspired by their hometowns, such as dark green walls reminiscent of evergreen trees and penny tiles resembling pebbly beaches. Additionally, a separate kitchenette was included to provide the couple with their own dedicated cooking space, considering their tenant's minimal usage. The design aimed to minimize sharp lines to accommodate the visual impairment, and ribbed MDF millwork was chosen for its soft shadows and varying textures.
