A Loft for Delight

This was a loft design that we had to design as a team of two person. Here you can see the rooms that I focused on. I designed the living room, dining room and the kitchen. The loft project was an interesting process. We had to use physical models to sketch and develop design process. Millwork design was one of the most interesting parts of the project. The millworks include the fireplace and the island for the kitchen. The space planning was a multi dimensional process. While we had to develop and think about the horizontal space and the interconnections between the spaces, we had to think about the vertical space. The vertical elements and how they are creating a composition was necessary. The goal was to create a harmonious space. This was done with textures that created a flow through Livingroom and connecting them with kitchen and dining room. The living room is separated into two zones with the fireplace, a seating area, and the bar room.
