Ten Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology students are the inaugural recipients of scholarships through the Schulich Builders: Scholarships for Skilled Trades program.
Recognizing a decline in the number of skilled workers in Canada, particularly tradespeople, Schulich Builders Scholarships are Canada’s largest skilled trade scholarship program and address the worker shortage by amplifying the importance and value of pursuing a career in the skilled trades through financial and leadership support.
In our effort to ensure that we are continuously engaging with recipients of the Schulich Builders scholarship throughout their education journey, we hosted an intimate meet and greet event at the Centre for Skilled Trades & Technology to bring together the student recipients along with their families for an opportunity to meet one another, their faculty and build a sense of community.
The Humber community celebrated 10 deserving Humber students who were awarded scholarships to cover tuition, tools and living expenses. Five scholarships at $20,000 each were awarded to students enrolled in a one-year certificate program, and five scholarships valued at $40,000 each are directed for students in two-year diploma programs.
Congratulations to the following inaugural recipients and welcome to Humber College!
