Humber College and the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology hosted the 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition for a second year, from March 6th – 9th, 2020. Twenty-five teams of high school students in the GTA built, programmed and performed their 140-pound robotic vehicles in the FIRST Robotics Canada, district competition. Lynn VanLieshout, Manager, Community Projects at Humber COWD led the Humber logistics team in setting up and coordinating this event.

From the opening ceremonies to the end of the games, the whole event had a palpable energy and passion which extended beyond the Humber gym. All were inspired by the creative and talented student participants, who will be the leaders of the future in STEM innovation.
