Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology (FAST) Design Networking Event 2020

The annual Design career event, hosted by FAST’s Co-op & Work Placement Services, brought together students and employers who enjoyed a wonderful evening of networking in the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation (CTI). Perhaps inspired by the beautiful glass-walled atrium of the Barrett CTI and the city lights, the general theme of the evening was “innovation” and “captivating design”, as employers highlighted trends in their industry.

With a focus on work-integrated learning, this event was held to support students seeking summer work placements from the Bachelor of Industrial Design, Bachelor of Interior Design, Architectural Technology and Interior Decorating, and, the employers interested in hiring them. In attendance were representatives from organizations such as ABC Group of Companies, Binns Kitchen & Bath, Forrec, Hunt Design Group, Kasian Architecture, Larco Hospitality, Mayhew, Picco Engineering, Restoration Hardware, Shape Products, Umbra, Union Lighting & Furnishings, and Ware Malcomb Architecture.
