Dean's Message

Dear Colleagues,

As the 2018-19 academic year comes to an end, I am proud to look back on the incredible achievements of our students, faculty and support staff. Each one of them have shown great dedication and commitment for which I am grateful.

In addition to having had the privilege of welcoming and educating a record-breaking number of new students, we have also successfully restructured our school to become the ‘Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology’.

With a mandate to foster an ecosystem of innovation, we are continually developing new ways to enhance student learning with intensity and impact. Here are some of them:

New Degrees, Co-Op Option & Programs with Embedded Essential Employability Skills

  • Community and industry engagement through the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation
  • 3 New Degree Programs
  • Upcoming Cloud Programs - under development - for building workplace skills beyond graduation
  • Programs now officially with co-op options

International Education Student Engagement

  • Student exchanges, short-courses, international development & training for international faculty

Awards & Student Recognition

  • Recognition of our students by countless national organizations as well as the Humber community
  • Record-breaking student scholarships and industry partnerships

Extending Learning through Continuing Education

  • Stackable micro-credentials, capacity building projects, community and industry partnerships and more

I hope you will see, in the newsletter to follow, why I take great pride in this exciting and productive year.

Please enjoy!
