The Humber Students' Federation has some new furniture to show off thanks to students from multiple programs in the School of Applied Technology.

HSF hosted a design competition for outdoor furniture last fall, and received a number of incredible entries. The winning design was submitted by Kimberlyn Dampitan of the Bachelor of Industrial Design program. Her concept was to add a playful, retro feeling to the space by creating life sized Tetris pieces that can be moved into different configurations based on how students want to use the furniture.

Once the design was chosen, HSF comissioned students in the Industrial Woodworking Technician and Cabinet Making program to build the pieces. Over the winter semester, Allen Picanco, Richard Eng, and A.J. Zumpano constructed the pieces using a variety of hand tools and CNC equipment.

The HSF student executives, builders, and designer, were able to meet this week to officially unveil the new furniture.
